OVOAPrivacy Policy
Your notes stay on your iPhone.
This policy covers the OVOA app for iPhone and the OVOA Band. Effective September 23, 2026.
- OVOA has no account, and we don't run servers for the app.
- Your notes, recordings, transcripts and heart-rate readings are stored on your iPhone and are never sent to us.
- Recordings are turned into text by your iPhone itself. They are not uploaded to Apple or to us.
- No analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- You can export your notes or delete everything at any time.
What OVOA keeps, and where
OVOA stores the following on your iPhone, inside the app's own storage:
- Notes you type.
- Voice notes you record with your iPhone's microphone, and recordings that come over from your OVOA Band.
- The text your iPhone writes out from those recordings.
- Heart-rate readings from your Band. OVOA keeps these for 30 days, then deletes them.
- An identifier for your Band, so the app can reconnect to it, and your settings.
- A random pairing code that your Band remembers, so it recognizes the app. It's kept in your iPhone's keychain, so reinstalling OVOA doesn't lock you out of your own Band. It contains nothing about you.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else by OVOA.
Speech recognition
OVOA turns recordings into text with Apple's speech recognition and requires it to run on your iPhone itself. Your recordings are not sent to Apple's servers or to us for this. If your iPhone can't recognize speech in your language on the device, OVOA keeps the audio and doesn't write it out.
Your OVOA Band
The app talks to your Band over Bluetooth to bring its recordings to your iPhone and to read your heart rate. Recordings stay on the Band until you choose Free Up Space, which removes only recordings that are already safely on your iPhone.
Steps
With your permission, OVOA reads your step count from your iPhone's motion sensors to show it on the Health tab. OVOA doesn't store your steps.
Permissions OVOA asks for
- Bluetooth, to connect to your OVOA Band. Asked when you first connect a Band.
- Microphone, to record voice notes. Asked when you first tap Record, or together with Speech Recognition, because writing out recordings needs it too.
- Speech Recognition, to write out recordings on your iPhone. Asked before the first recording is written out.
- Motion & Fitness, to show your steps. Asked when you choose to see them.
You can change any of these at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.
Sharing and export
OVOA shares a note, a recording or an export of your notes only when you choose to, through the iOS share sheet, and only to the place you pick.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
OVOA doesn't include analytics, advertising or tracking, and doesn't track you across apps or websites. The app's diagnostic log stays on your iPhone; it's only shared if you copy it and send it to us yourself, and it contains no notes, recordings or readings.
Backups
Like other apps, OVOA's data can be included in your iPhone's backups to iCloud or your computer, which are governed by your settings and Apple's policies.
Deleting your data
In OVOA, open Settings and tap Delete All Data to erase every note, recording and heart-rate reading, and forget your Band. Deleting the app deletes your notes, recordings and readings with it. You can delete a single note, with its recording, at any time.
Health information
OVOA is for general wellness. It isn't a medical device and isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.
Children
OVOA isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
